September 24,2005 - Music: Underground Resistance Live saturday 24 september 2005

Underground Resistance are one of the highlights of DEAF 4. Drawing as much from Gospel, Motown and Jazz as from their more celebrated Techno background, Galaxy 2 Galaxy stand alone in the Techno world by virtue of the fact that they are truly "live", and encompass a seven piece band led by 'Mad' Mike Banks, founder of the enigmatic and highly influential Underground Resistance (UR) record label.

Begun in 1990 UR adapted the flavour and kick of early Detroit Techno to the accelerated inner-city decline that followed on from the Reagan era, producing uncompromising music which – while largely instrumental, nonetheless geared itself toward promoting political awareness and towards facilitating political change.

Many of UR's early releases were produced by Banks in collaboration with Jeff Mills and Robert Hood, before both left in 1992 to pursue (and to soon achieve) international success as solo artists and DJs. Banks continued to operate UR alone in the wake of the split, releasing dozens of classic EPs such as ‘Message to the Majors’, a vociferous statement of independence which helped build the image of UR as an uncompromisingly militant force. This reputation was later testified to by their collision with Sony over the major label’s unauthorised cover version of a UR track, and by the support that they received from ground-level: UR fans blitzed Sony executives with protest emails, eventually forcing a climbdown.

September 11,2005 - CINEMA: Broken Flowers & Paradise Now quick review

Awaited from long time since its award at Cannes in 2005, Broken Flowers just made us sleep. Between two fights to keep eyes open, we smiled once and felt bored till the end. I personally love long sequences in one shot, but it did make it here. People may say they love it because it's Cannes, it's Bill, it's Stone, it smells money (i mean rewards).

Paradise Now is about two Palestinian enrolled as kamikazes. This kind of film about history, that let you a ball in stomac and bitter in mouth. Definitely a film to see.

September 09,2005 - Hi-Tech : Screens and glasses

How much I would have loved if the PSP had a video out (maybe in near future through usb device?). I could have used those glasses or used a new 2d-3d monitor like this sharp LL-151-3d :

No, kidding, this 3d monitor can be played with those games : http://www.sharp3d.com/products/ (check games page for a list). Ok maybe we'll wait until 3D Solar have made something really nice with their tech. So the point is : Do we have to spend money for a "playstation games+amiga computer+atari+arcade+nes+gameboy+gba+snes+neo geo+pc engine+sega genesis+msx+sega master system+mp3 player+image viewer+video player+wi fi net browser" console without a video out option (ok they don't want us to play on tv; and "force" to buy a next gen ps3) ? No answer yet ! Yes we want to play Speedball 2 and Monkey Island on PSP. No we don't want to loose money. Get back to work lil bees !

Wait ! There's more !
