The US Secret Service personnel receive basic training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). More advanced training is conducted at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel MD. Both the Secret Service uniformed branch [which guards the White House] and the special agents who accompany the President and other VIPs train at the Rowley facility. Training activities include driving, weapons and tactics, close protection drills, and water safety. The Water Safety Program courses include basic water survival, rescue swimming, diving, aircraft safety and evacuation, helicopter emergency egress, emergency medicine, and river rescue for specialized security personnel. The Center also offers VIP security training for law enforcement agencies that need this capability.

The boom of the thong as an undergarment has created an all new fashion style, the Whale Tail, the wearing of ones thong above the waste band of every day clothing. Celebs such as Britney Spears and Anna Kournikova have increased the acceptability of the Whale tail by appearing in public wearing hipster jeans and high riding thongs, creating a fashion that is copied by many women. Hipster jeans have had a large impact with creating the fashion whale tails, as the waste band got lower and lower to show more midriff it was harder to hide the lines of a thong so why not use it as a fashion piece.

After Fairlight and Class, now Razor1911 has to stop.

Crime sure didn't pay for Sean Michael Breen. In an Oakland court on Tuesday, the Richmond, California resident was sentenced to 50 months in prison by U.S. District Court Judge Saundra Armstrong.

His offense? Selling and illegally distributing nearly half a million dollars' worth of cracked console and PC games over the past decade.

Breen's sentence follows his guilty plea and subsequent conviction last July on two counts of copyright infringement and on three counts of mail fraud. As has been widely reported, the charges stemmed from Breen's multiyear tenure as the self-styled leader of Razor1911, an infamous group of game hackers responsible for an elaborate black-market "warez" operation. He is the latest and last Razor1911 member to be sentenced--last June, a North Carolina-based member received an 18-month jail term on related charges.

According to court documents, Breen and other Razor1911 members acquired, cracked, and sold advance copies of Quake, Command & Conquer Red Alert, Terminal Velocity, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and many other games.

They acquired advance copies of said titles by posing as reviewers for fictitious game magazines and having them shipped to a derelict storefront address in Oakland. Breen and his associates would then illegally distribute their games via pirated-software sites and often sell physical copies. Their unconcealed efforts garnered the attention of the U.S. Customs Service, which arrested Breen and 40 other individuals after an extensive undercover operation known as "Operation Buccaneer."

Razor1911 members also posed as customers of Cisco Systems in order to place massive hardware orders they never paid for. This tactic came back to haunt Breen today, when Judge Armstrong ordered him to pay $690,236.91 in restitution to Cisco--more than the value of the software he was accused of distributing.

Breen begins his sentence on March 26. Barring parole, he will be released in May 2008, when he will have to serve a further three years probation. He will also have to finish reimbursing Cisco, which will likely take much longer.

At long last, from the darkness of shadows emerges the THIEF: Deadly Shadows website.

You play Garrett, the master thief, who steals for a living, and kills when he has to. In The City where Garrett resides, crime and corruption are commonplace, wealthy nobles prey on the poor, and magic and machinery coexist uneasily. Attempting to stop the fabric of The City from unraveling are the Keepers, the secret society that trained Garrett in his youth. According to the Keepers, a dark age is approaching, and Garrett's name appears in their prophecies...prominently. The Keepers turn to Garrett in their hour of need, and reluctantly he agrees to enter their secret libraries and work with them once again.

After playing the first two in the Thief series, this is bound to be a winner! Eidos takes the helm this time to deliver the best (hopefully) stealth game to date. This time you'll be able to play in both 1st & 3rd person views.
