The last month was spent integrating the intro player mentioned last month into the main game code - no mean feat considering that fitting it in the GBA's limited RAM meant shuffling the routines and variables in and out of the GBA's fastest internal memory. Syncronised music was also added to the intro. In addition to this, some time was also spent further optimising the texture mapping routine.

Furthermore, the vehicle's name is now displayed when you get in and the camera angles in the replay mode are more varied. Also, the replay buffer was expanded from 10K to 15K, allowing for an average recording length of about 24 minutes and a theoretical maximum of over 21 hours!

Welcome to Vice City. Welcome to the 1980s.

Having just made it back onto the streets of Liberty City after a long stretch in maximum security, Tommy Vercetti is sent to Vice City by his old boss, Sonny Forelli. They were understandably nervous about his re-appearance in Liberty City, so a trip down south seemed like a good idea. Un violent séisme a fait près de 100 morts et 500 blessés dans l'est de la Turquie, alors que quelque 200 personnes, dont les enfants d'un pensionnat surpris en pleine nuit dans leurs lits, étaient toujours ensevelies sous les décombres jeudi après-midi.

"Il y a environ 150 à 200 citoyens toujours sous les décombres", selon le premier ministre turc Recep Tayyip Erdogan, qui s'est rendu à Bingol (est), une petite ville qui semblait la plus touchée par le séisme, le plus grave dans le pays depuis ceux de 1999 qui avaient fait 20.000 morts.

Selon M. Erdogan, le séisme, d'une magnitude de 6,4 degrés sur l'échelle ouverte de Richter, a fait "environ 100 morts".

Un total de 76 enfants ont été dégagés vivants des décombres d'un pensionnat dans la périphèrie de Bingol, après que les quatre étages de l'établissement se soient effondrés les uns sur les autres comme un mille-feuille.

Un total de 26 corps ont également été récupérés.

Près de 80 enfants demeuraient toutefois coincés sous les décombres, plus de 10 heures après le séisme et les sauveteurs entendaient encore des cris de "à l'aide" et "de l'eau".

"Je suis tombé dans un trou entre le lit et le mur. C'est comme ça que j'ai survêcu", a raconté Ersin Besbelli, âgé de 14 ans, quelques instants après avoir été sorti des décombres.

"J'espère seulement que mes copains ont également survêcu", a-t-il ajouté sans savoir que ses sept camarades de chambrée étaient toujours sous les décombres.

"Mes amis me demandaient de les aider pendant qu'on me dégageait. Ils sont toujours dedans, sauvez-les", suppliait pour sa part Veysel Dagdeviren, 12 ans, cité par l'agence Anatolie après avoir été extrait des décombres avec un bras cassé.

"Soudain, j'ai vu le plafond s'effondrer presque sur moi. Il restait très peu de place. Le concierge de l'école a utilisé les morceaux cassés de la rampe d'escalier pour me tirer dehors", a raconté un autre écolier, Mustafa Gunala.

Des centaines de secouristes, de gendarmes et de soldats, assistés de civils, fourmillaient sur les décombres du pensionnat, tentant de pénétrer dans le bâtiment dont les pans de ciment s'encastraient les uns sur les autres.

Des centaines de personnes, dont de nombreux parents en pleurs, tentaient quant à eux de forcer les cordons de sécurité et se bousculaient vers les ambulances à chaque fois qu'un enfant était sorti sur un brancard.

Le séisme, ressenti dans les provinces avoisinantes, s'est produit à 03H27 locales (00H27 GMT) et a déclenché la panique dans la région où des centaines de personnes se sont précipitées dans les rues.

A Bingol même, le médecin-chef, cité par l'agence Anatolie, affirmait que son hôpital était débordé avec plus de 350 blessés. Ces derniers étaient soignés dans les jardins de l'hôpital par peur de nouvelles secousses.

Près de 300 répliques ont été enregistrées après la secousse initiale qui a duré une vingtaine de secondes.

Les communications avec plusieurs villages, privés d'électricité et de téléphone, étaient coupées.

D'importants moyens de secours, dont des hôpitaux de campagne, des cuisines roulantes et des chiens spécialisés, ont été acheminés vers la région.

Des équipes spécialisées de la Sécurité civile, de la gendarmerie et des forces spéciales ont également été dépêchées sur place depuis Ankara et les provinces voisines.

Plusieurs pays ont offert d'aider la Turquie, mais M. Erdogan a estimé que son propre pays avait les moyens de faire face à la crise.

Le Premier ministre a toutefois annoncé l'ouverture d'une enquête sur d'éventuels défauts de construction, affirmant que d'éventuels responsables "seront traduits en justice".

La Turquie est traversée de plusieurs lignes de faille actives, dont la ligne nord-anatolienne qui a causé la mort de plus de 20.000 personnes en août et novembre 1999 à l'est de la mer de Marmara.

Le 22 mai 1971 un séisme d'une magnitude de 6,8 sur Richter avait fait quelque 900 morts dans la province de Bingol.

In an interview with American magazine People, Jack confirms, "I got caught up in my new lifestyle and got carried away with drugs and alcohol. I voluntarily checked myself into a detox facility for my own health and well- being." But father Ozzy - who himself battled years of substance abuse - is proud at the way his son has tackled his excesses. He says, "It takes a lot of courage and strength to admit you need help, and both Sharon and I are proud Jack is facing his problems head-on."
