Cleaner 5.1.2 now support :

- Windows Media 8.2

- RealVideo 9

Please note that the 5.1.2 release of cleaner only supports RealVideo 9, the latest video codec from Real. RealVideo 9 is part of the current RealSystems version 8.5.2. The full RealSystems 9 SDK has yet to be released. Also note that upon first launching cleaner after initially installing it, two folders called Cleaner Settings and Real 9 settings are created in the cleaner 5 application folder. You must manually drag the Real 9 Settings folder into the Cleaner Settings folder in order to use the new RealVideo 9 settings.

The two methods for decoding source media have been removed so users no longer have to select between Automatic and Safest. Optimizations in the way cleaner reads media have allowed us to remove the Decode choices and simplify the interface.

cleaner 5.1.2 now supports 2-pass VBR when using the Developer's Edition of Sorenson Video 3, however, the SV3 features are only accessible in the Options dialog. A Sorenson panel will not be created in the Advanced Settings section. SV3 settings that are created in the Sorenson Options dialog are not transferred cross-platform at this time, but this may be possible in a future release of the Sorenson codec.

SYMPTOMS

On computers with an AMD processor, programs that use Microsoft DirectX 8.1 may quit without displaying an error message. The same programs work correctly on computers with Intel processors.

CAUSE

The DrawIndexedPrimitive function stops working without displaying an error or debug message. This occurs because of a code error in the AMD-specific optimized code. This code error may lead to heap corruption.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this fix.

"This pack contains a map with two versions: a vanilla version and a railgun version. The small map is mainly a two dimensional arena, since the roof is so low that you bump your head against it if you jump. This, together with the use of only one texture, will make you feel claustrophobic, which is good. Basically, you have a set of extremely narrow, interconnected hallways, and a larger open area. Now take this architecture and place a BFG, a railgun, the hook, and a grenade launcher, included in the vanilla version. Add also two yellow armours, lots of health (which is needed, believe me), the quad damage, the teleporter item and the invisibility item please. Result? Blood bath. You wont even have the time to feel claustrophobic. Bots play ok. The rail only version is not of much interest, since in many cases you will prefer the gauntlet or the machine gun. The author did not include an arena file, you have to load the map from the console typing "\map nafley_b" (or nafley_c for the rail version).

Download the 80 KB file if you enjoy to fool around a bit before playing a "serious match". "
